The FSU Fishing Club was founded recently in January 2004, and is growing bigger every day. The Florida State University Fishing Club was established as a registered student organization though Florida State University in the Fall of 2003. We became an organization through the state of Florida in the Spring of 2004. The main purpose of the fishing club is to promote recreational fishing and sound environmental practices to University students.

The North Florida Gulf Fishing Club (N.F.G.F.C.) was formed in March, 2001, by a group of individuals with a common interest in fishing the waters of the Northern Gulf of Mexico. Since its inception, it has been the goal of the members of the club to protect and preserve the heritage of saltwater fishing through planned activities, education, and participation of whole families in our club sanctioned activities. The N.F.G.F.C. holds monthly tournaments and monthly club meetings.

Florida Wild Mammal Association Since 1994 Florida Wild Mammal Association has rescued over 5,000 mammals, birds, and reptiles, 800 last year alone. Served Wakulla, Franklin, Leon, and Jefferson counties. Had a volunteer staff. Been supported 100% by donations and grants. Been a registered 501(3)c nonprofit organization. Offered ongoing educational demonstrations for local schools. Since the St. Joe Wildlife Sanctuary in Port St. Joe closed its doors earlier this year -- due to lack of funding -- and community support the added responsibility and greater influx of patients in the foreseeable future, additional funding is even more urgent than ever. Please help!

Tocamos is Tallahassee’s own Afro-Cuban drumming group. The group is led by Yazid Johnson and Paul Harvey. As a group of community educators, Tocamos strives to educate and entertain. These performances and classes are meant to exemplify the history and culture of the Caribbean and the African Diaspora in an engaging and energetic atmosphere. The drum is the focal point and serves various functions, such as a voice, telling the story of the dance or a signal to bring the community together. Tocamos plays Latin dance grooves as well as traditional folk songs from Cuba, Brazil, and Puerto Rico, as well as traditional African rhythms and instruments. In fact, Paul and Yazid co-directed the African Drum and Dance Ensemble at Florida State University from 2001 - 2003.
